Wedding Hairstyles 2011-2012 for Women
Wedding Hairstyles 2011-2012 for Women – Latest Wedding Hairstyles Trends 2012 for Women: More and more modern brides are leaving behind the old-school traditional formal vibe, and opting for a friendlier, more laid back wedding day experience.
It doesn’t make it any less special, but can be more personal and suited to your style and that of your bridal party and guests. From the venue and the dress, all the way down to your hair and your shoes, take a look at some different styles to get you thinking about what you really want!
Upscale and Traditional
There’s absolutely nothing wrong with wanting a style that’s classic and timeless. Opt for a style that is swept up and has curl but that is not extreme or harsh.
Face Shape/Hair Type:
This one is good for most face shapes and hair types. Find something different if you have a very round or long face. If your hair is really thin and/or fine, have your stylist blend in some extensions.
Beach, anyone?
You know you have to have a beach wedding, or at least have the reception at the beach, with this style! The curls add a more formal look to an otherwise laid-back, chill style.
Face Shape/Hair Type:
This one is good for any face shape and hair type. You should be able to have your hair layered or thinned out to achieve the same type of look, but if you’ve hot hair that doesn’t curl at all, keep looking for that perfect style.
High Class Bride(smaid)
This smooth and full style is perfect for a bride or a bridesmaid! If you’re choosing this one for your wedding day, have different options for your bridal party. You don’t want to match them exactly!
Face Shape/Hair Type:
Good for heart, oval, slight round and square. If you’ve got a long face or a very round or square face, have your stylist cut in some face framing to soften out those lines for you.
Trendy Braids
A classic style with a modern twist; braids are a great way to break up the texture of a style without having to completely change your look. It should be easy enough for your stylist to pop in a couple of braids to weave around and spruce up that wedding-day hairstyle.
Face Shape/Hair Type:
If you don’t have bangs and your hair is slicked back as severely as the photo, you’ll want to have an oval shaped face. If you’ve got face framing or bangs, you can have pretty much any face shape with this style. Hair type should be medium density. Hair that DOES NOT curl is perfect for this type of style!
Not Too Perfect…
Avoid the stiff look and go for something more soft and romantic! Curls are so pretty when pulled off to one side. Leave sweet loose pieces around the face to soften the look even further.
Face Shape/Hair Type:
Heart, oval, some round or square. Long, round and square should have face framing cut in that helps soften the edges and create an even more feminine vibe. Hair should be at least medium density and be able to retain a curl.
Loose and Easy Hairdo
This one doesn’t necessarily need a professional to recreate. It’s straightforward and no-nonsense, but still a lot of fun! Some pinned back curls make it “bridal,” but the loose pieces and little bit of volume keep it from being a stereotype.
Face Shape/Hair Type:
Oval, heart, round, square or long. Any shape will do. Customize it to suit your features by talking to your stylist and getting their opinion.
Low Maintenance Side Pony
Lots of volume + sassy color + personality=fun time!! ANYONE can do this style if their hair is long enough to put into a side ponytail.
Face Shape/Hair Type:
Oval, heart, round, square, some long. Medium hair density with a fairly smooth texture will work best.
Party on Top!
It might not look very bridal, but if you’re used to wearing your hair up and don’t want to look like someone else on your wedding day, this may be the best solution. It’s not too curly or frizzy, it’s not too tight or slicked back – just a soft and romantic hairstyle.
Face Shape/Hair Type:
Oval, some heart, some round, some square
Toss Across
This urban style is sweet and innocent, but a little wild too! Curls are going every which way but are tamed by strategically placed bobby pins.
Face Shape/Hair Type:
Oval or heart, maybe long, round or square depending on how you modify the front of the style. Hair should have decent density or your stylist will make that happen with products that beef your hair up.
