MaxMara Spring – Summer 2011 at Milan Fashion Week: MaxMara’s long-standing tailoring aesthetic, was translated in clean, architectural lines and bright colour for spring/summer 2011.
Trench-styling remained a foundation of the collection, seen as a high-collared, flap-fronted dust-coat, or a trench-coat, or as a short jacket with matching slim skirt or boot-cut trousers, in beige, white, orange and black-and-white polka-dots.
But a new minimalist approach was evident in the introduction of backless bodies, in flame-orange, neon-yellow, purple, red and green, worn with matching, wide-palazzo trousers, split up to the thigh at the sides. In white, the spine-tingling top was reminiscent of that worn by Sade, at the LiveAid concert at Wembley, all those years ago.
